Sector-coupled and economic operation management of decentralized prosumers using advanced control algorithms
The share of volatile energy generation is constantly increasing as a result of the expansion of renewable energies. These energy producers are mainly integrated into local or regional grids, where highly fluctuating generation can lead to grid bottlenecks.
At the same time, the Upper Rhine region, with its energy suppliers and cooperatives, offers an excellent opportunity to investigate and develop methods for the cross-border, grid-compatible operation of hybrid energy systems.
The following aspects are the focus of the INTERREG V Upper Rhine project ACA-MODES:
- Development of cross-system, grid-related operation management strategies
- for sector-coupled, hybrid energy systems that provide the useful energies heat/cooling and electricity with different (especially regenerative) end energies
- with energy prosumers in neighbourhoods and city districts with an electrical connected load of approx. 1 MW.
Within the framework of the project, the technical linking and joint system optimization of five nationwide distributed energy islands will also result in a concrete implementation of the developed methods and strategies, which will enable the demonstration of the methods and their testing on real systems.
